I told the story of Susanna in my Sunday School class, and I was told never to use the Apocrypha.  What do you think?

I believe it was God who planned the canon of our 66 books of the Bible, and he did not include the Apocrypha
(I give my reasons for this in the Word Thought on the Apocrypha on my website).    It is good for us to read widely on all sort of topics which may help us interpret the Word of God to thinking people, and obviously that includes the Apocrypha.  But we do not need the Apocrypha to establish any point of evangelical doctrine.  There are wide differences in how various denominations approach this, and wide differences between preachers of the same denomination.
