Moral Questions

by Robert Brow

Questions of Right and Wrong.

The Ten Commandments give us ten categories of moral judgment. People of all religions and no religion make judgments of what is right and wrong under these headings.  But these categories have very little content till people apply them to particular situations.  The way a people or tribe or generation fills out the meaning of these ten categories gives us a model that explains their culture.  And usually the explanation they give will be based on their religion or ideology.   (For the model shift from patriarchy into a Christian view of the seventh commandment see Adultery : An Exploration of Love and Marriage)
